The EKU women’s golf team had solid performances on Monday and Tuesday at the UNF Collegiate hosted by the University of North Florida.

Out of the 17 teams in the field, Eastern finished tied for eighth with Murray State with a final score of 897. North Florida took home first by three shots over second place Mercer.

EKU was one shot away from tying Western Kentucky for seventh place.

Individually, EKU had three golfers finish in the top 30. Senior Elsa Moberly ended the tournament in sixth place and one under par. Senior Amanda Lindahl tied for 24th place with a seven over par performance. Sophomore Ragnhildur Kristinsdottir finished just behind Lindahl, tied for 29th place and eight over par.

Moberly’s performance during the UNF Collegiate helped to her earn her third Ohio Valley Conference golfer of the week award this season.

The UNF Collegiate included the top 3 teams in the OVC Preseason Poll. Those teams included: Murray State, Eastern Kentucky and Jacksonville State. Moberly finished five shots better than any other conference player.

Eastern Kentucky will be back on the course March 17-19 at the Bobby Nichols Intercollegiate hosted by Tennessee Tech University at the Sevierville Golf Club.
