Arizona picked up a commitment from Spanish guard Conrad Martinez, according  to Eurohopes and Wildcat Authority.

Martinez and Arizona have not confirmed a commitment but Martinez posted to Instagram that he's will not be part of his youth club, Joventut of Badalona, next season.

Martinez, 18, helped lead Spain to a silver medal in the FIBA U17 World Cup last summer, an event UA coach Tommy Lloyd watched in person. Over seven U17 games, Martinez averaged 9.1 points, 3.9 assists and 2.0 rebounds while shooting 23.5% from 3-point range.

In the final against USA -- which included Gilbert Perry five-star forward Koa Peat and other top U.S. prospects -- Martinez had nine points and six assists along with four turnovers.

Last season, according to Eurobasket, Martinez averaged 16.6 points while shooting 35.7% from 3-point range in the Adidas Next Generation Tournament. Over Spain's EBA season, he averaged 17.0 points over 22 games.

In December 2020, ID Prospects listed him as a nominee for "best young player."

The addition of Martinez would bring Arizona's roster to 12 scholarship players for next season. The Wildcats are also one of three possible spots for North Carolina transfer guard Caleb Love, who would likely be of much more immediate impact to the Wildcats.

Arizona's apparent willingness to accept 13 scholarship players next season confirms that Azuolas Tubelis is not returning to the Wildcats and that Arizona has determined that it has already satisfied its one-year scholarship loss penalty by having only 12 players last season.

As of now the UA roster looks like this:
