Senior Nick Mayo going up to score against the White team during the sixteenth annual Halloween Hoopfest.

Fans had the chance to see the 2018-19 men's and women's basketball teams last night at Alumni Coliseum during the sixteenth annual Halloween Hoopfest.

The annual event opened with performances from the EKU cheerleading team and dance team, followed by a parade around the court by children in their halloween costumes.

The men's and women's teams were introduced to the crowd and the women's team had a three-point contest, which junior guard Catie Kaifes won.

The men's team led by head coach A.W. Hamilton, competed in their annual Maroon vs. White scrimmage. The White team’s lineup was Tre King, Lachlan Anderson, Pedro Bradshaw, Houston King and Jacquess Hobbs. The Maroon team’s lineup was Nick Mayo, Jordan Oakely, Peyton Broughton, Kelvin Robinson and Dujuanta Weaver.

The White team came back from behind double digits to defeat the Maroon team by a score of 48-43.

The men's basketball team will be in action to start the season on Nov. 1 against Kentucky Christian in a exhibition game.

The women's team will open the season against Saint Louis at McBrayer Arena on Nov. 9.
