Zoe Aguirre

Eastern Kentucky University sophomore goalkeeper Zoe Aguirre has joined Mexico’s U20 National Team for a training camp in Mexico City.

She will train with the team through July 12.

Aguirre has been a fixture with the Mexican National Team since the U20 World Cup last summer in France.

She played significant minutes in goal for the team at the international Sud Ladies Cup in France this May.

Aguirre started 18 games as a freshman at EKU last fall. The native of Corona, California ranked second in the OVC with six shutouts, for of which came against conference competition. She was named to the OVC All-Newcomer Team and the OVC All-Tournament Team at the conclusion of the 2018 season.

Aguirre was also a member of Mexico’s first-ever beach soccer National Team.

The Colonels open the 2019 campaign August 22 at Ohio University.
