Eastern Kentucky University women's basketball team and head coach Samantha Williams announced their non-conference schedule for the 2020-2021 season.
The Colonels home opener will be Nov. 25 against Bellarmine University. This will be the first time the teams have met since 1986. The Knights finished their last season with a record of 18-11.
The Colonels will take the road on Nov. 29 against Louisville, which finished 28-4 on the season and ranked No. 6 in the nation. Williams was a long-time assistant coach at Louisville before being hired as the head coach at EKU in 2019.
While coaching the Cardinals, Williams helped the team reach the Final Four twice and the National Championship game in 2013. The Cardinals also made an Elite 8 appearance and advanced to the Sweet 16 four times while Williams roamed the sidelines with Louisville head coach Jeff Walz.
EKU will play another home game on Dec. 15 against Alabama A&M. The Bulldogs had a record of 17-13.
EKU will head to Tennessee on Dec. 18 against Chattanooga. The Mocs finished with a record of 11-18.
The Colonels will finish their non-conference in Illinois on Dec. 22 against Northwestern. The Wildcats finished the season 26-4 and ranked No. 11. This will be the first time the teams meet.
