The Belmont Bruins topped the EKU women’s basketball team on Thursday in McBrayer Arena by a final of 87-52.
The Colonels fall to 0-11 in the Ohio Valley Conference and 2-20 overall this season.
The Bruins started the game hot going on a 7-0 run and forced the Colonels to call a timeout. In the first quarter, Belmont out scored EKU 18-5. Belmont shot 51 percent in the game while the Colonels shot a poor 33 percent.
Eastern was led by Bria Bass and Teri Goodlett, with 12 points scored by each. Belmont was led by Ellie Harmeyer with 17 points. Harmeyer also recorded a double-double with 10 rebounds. The Bruins out-rebounded Eastern 49 to 28.
Eastern Kentucky’s next game is this Saturday against Tennessee State in McBrayer Arena. Tipoff is set for 4:30 p.m.
