Visitation policy change allows off campus guests

On-campus residents at Eastern Kentucky University are now allowed to check in one off-campus guest into their residence halls, as of April 5. This expansion of the guest procedures followed the change that allowed only on-campus residents to visit other residents in on-campus housing.

The decision to allow visitation for off-campus guests was also made as COVID-19 rates on-campus remain low. EKU has reported  a total of 256 cases this spring semester, including non-residential students, residential students and employees. As of April 9, there are only nine active cases at EKU, and the low rates influenced the decision to go ahead with opening up residence halls for off-campus guests.

Despite easing this restriction, guests are still required to wear masks at all times in the dorms. Prior to the COVID-19 pandemic, each residential student could check in three guests.
