Kentucky State Police arrested a man on three counts of second-degree arson after he allegedly admitted to setting three trailers on fire last year.
Kentucky State Police responded to Battlefield Memorial Highway Wednesday, where it was reported a field was on fire, according to a citation. Troopers responded, and through investigation, they spoke with Roger Leece, 58, Forest Trail Road, Berea.
Leece told troopers that last year, in the middle of March or April, he willfully went into three trailers and set them on fire using his lighter, the citation states. He said he drove to the trailers and walked inside of them to start the fires.
Leece was seen in the area and was a suspect at the time, the citation states.
He was taken to the Madison County Detention Center, where he remained Thursday afternoon, according to online jail records.
The Register collects and publishes police reports as a public service to its readers. The reports often contain allegations against individuals and do not mean the individuals actually committed a crime. All people named in connection with a crime are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
