Grand jury indicts man on two assault charges

A grand jury recently indicted Duran Estill, 52, unknown address, on a superseding indictment that charges him with second-degree assault, tampering with a witness, fourth-degree assault and first-degree persistent felony offender.

He was arrested after Richmond officers responded to Super 7 Motel in regards to several individuals staying there with active warrants, including Estill, according to a previous Register article. Police knocked on the door, spoke with Estill and detained him for the warrant that charges him with fourth- and second-degree assault.

According to the warrant, on or about July 22, Estill punched a victim in their mouth and jaw, resulting in a lodged tooth in their lip and which left them with permanent disfiguration.

The indictment states Estill then told the victim to lie about their injuries. He additionally told the victim that no other eye witnesses would testify against him.

Also indicted recently were:

• Octavian Kador, 23, West Main Street, Richmond, second-degree assault, attempted first-degree burglary and third-degree terroristic threatening.

• William Lamb, 30, Four Mile Road, Richmond, trafficking in a controlled substance (more than 2 grams of methamphetamine), third-degree assault, first-degree controlled substance possession, possession of drug paraphernalia, resisting arrest, public intoxication and first-degree persistent felony offender.

• Jamie Conner, age and address unknown, first-degree wanton endangerment, operating a motor vehicle while under the influence of a controlled substance (aggravated) and possession of drug paraphernalia.

• Michael Graves, 29, Elmwood Drive, Richmond, assault of a family member or member of an unmarried couple, first-degree fleeing police, violation of a protective order and second-degree persistent felony offender.

• Anthony Francisco, 41, Herndon Street, Berea, assault of a family member, tampering with a witness, violation of a protective order and first-degree persistent felony offender.

• John Miller, 34, Merrick Drive, Richmond, first-degree controlled substance possession (methamphetamine), first-degree controlled substance possession (heroin), possession of drug paraphernalia, public intoxication.

• Brandy Johnson, age and address unknown, first-degree controlled substance possession, tampering with physical evidence and possession of drug paraphernalia.

• Frank Hubbard, 35, Parkview Way, Richmond, first-degree controlled substance possession, second-degree controlled substance possession and possession of drug paraphernalia.

• Haskell Varney, 47, North Third Street, Richmond, first-degree controlled substance possession.

• Steven Keith, 44, West Jefferson Street, Berea, first-degree controlled substance possession.

• Matthew Adams, 36, Irvine, first-degree controlled substance possession (methamphetamine), first-degree controlled substance possession (hydrocodone) and possession of drug paraphernalia.

• Matthew Powell, 37, Estill, first-degree controlled substance possession (methamphetamine) and first-degree controlled substance possession (hydrocodone).

• Jessica Rose, 36, Irvine, first-degree controlled substance possession and possession of drug paraphernalia.

• Elizabeth Gullette, 45, Boonesborough Road, Richmond, theft of property lost or mislaid (less than $10,000) and theft by deception.

• James Willis, 34, unknown address, tampering with physical evidence and first-degree controlled substance possession.

• Nancy Hubbard, 27, Lexington, theft by unlawful taking.

The following were indicted for first-degree bail jumping recently:

• Daniel Hoskins, 41, Northgate Drive, Richmond; Brian Isaacs, age and address unknown and Bryana Harlan, age and address unknown.

A charge was dismissed without prejudice by the grand jury against Tyler Snowden, 32, Ravenna.

An indictment does not indicate guilt, only that grand jurors believe the state has enough evidence to proceed with prosecution.
