Students who want to study abroad will have their opportunity with the Spin-the-Wheel scholarship event at 3:30 p.m. on Jan. 29 in the Whitlock Building’s O’Donnell Auditorium.

Students can apply online for the chance to have their names drawn at the event so that they can spin the wheel on stage.

The wheel will consist of various locations where the student may be able to study. Last year’s locations included Israel, Egypt, Thailand and Germany. There will also be a “student’s choice” and a “president’s choice” spot on the wheel.

The scholarship will allow the student to study abroad for free in the country that the wheel lands on during summer break. The scholarship covers the cost of the program as well as airfare.

To be eligible for an opportunity to spin the wheel students must attend the event unless they have a scheduled class during the event, have a 2.5 GPA, be a full time student and be in good standing with the Office of Student Conduct and Community Standards.

Students who skip class to attend the event will be disqualified from the event and current seniors may not defer graduation to participate.

The deadline to apply for the Spin-the-Wheel scholarship is Jan. 22. The application can be found at
