New Scholarship Model for Colonels

The Student Success office has developed and issued new scholarship models for incoming and in-state students. This new scholarship model is designed to help more Kentucky students afford attending college at Eastern Kentucky University.

Starting the Fall 2021 semester, students will be eligible to get up to $6,000 dollars per year for earning a 3.0 GPA or higher, even with no ACT score required. or students that have received a 28 or higher score on the ACT with a 3.8 GPA or higher, will have in-state tuition paid in full.

There is the Madison County "Promise" scholarship. This is a scholarship that is about EKU being proud of the long-standing partnership with Richmond’s community, and them wanting students from the county to succeed. Now, many students can attend EKU for an even more affordable rate. Madison County, KY residents with a 2.5-2.9 GPA qualify for a $1,000 scholarship.

The Access Scholarship is about EKU being committed to a welcoming and inclusive environment.  The Access Scholarship awards $1,000 to in-state, diverse students who have earned a high school GPA of 2.5 or higher and a composite ACT score of 16 or higher; or have a high school GPA of 3.0 or higher regardless of ACT score.

The Opportunity scholarship will allow students who are Kentucky residents, have a minimum 2.5 high school GPA, 18 composite on the ACT and demonstrate financial need as determined by the 2021-2022 FAFSA receive awards ranging from $1,000 to $3,000.

Then there is the Colonel Commitment that covers the full cost of your tuition. If you are eligible for the Pell Grant but still need additional funding afterwards, EKU will still make sure that those students will still be able to be a Colonel by covering the remaining cost of the tuition.
