Eastern Kentucky University’s Grand Campus (GC) buildings one and two are without power following heavy winds and rain that hit the region on Friday, March 2. The parking lot on the corner of Lancaster Ave. and Barnes Mill Rd. also remains blocked off as EKU Public Safety prepares to remove a large tree threatening to fall from the area.

According to an employee with EKU Public Safety, all students with vehicles parked in the lot have been informed and once they are removed, the tree will be removed safely.

EKU Police are on-scene and are rerouting traffic behind GC building two.

This is a developing story and will be updated as information becomes available.
