Dangerously Low Windchill Temperatures

Windchill temperatures for Wednesday, Jan. 30 will be dangerously low. EKU has canceled classes for Wednesday, citing safety concerns.

EKU will be closed Wednesday because of inclement weather following an announcement from President Michael Benson.

Benson tweeted, “With temperatures and wind chills projected to be dangerously low, all #EKU campuses will be closed tomorrow, January 30th. Stay tuned for additional updates. Be safe and stay warm,” late Tuesday night.

All classes have been canceled and many areas of the university are closed or have adjusted hours.

The John Grant Crabbe Library and Noel Studio are closed for the day. All consultations and room reservations are canceled and subject to rescheduling according to an email sent out by the Studio.

Case Dining Hall has undergone an adjusted schedule:

Case Kitchen will be open from 9 a.m. - 8 p.m.

Subway and the POD will be running from 10 a.m. - 11 p.m.

Chick-fil-A will be open from 10:00 a.m. - 11 p.m.

Panda Express and Moe’s are open from 10:30 a.m. - 9 p.m.

Starbucks will be open from 10 a.m. - 9 p.m.

Steak-n-Shake, Cuisine, and Java City will be closed.

As of right now, the university is scheduled to operate normally on Thursday.
