Freshman move-in day was Friday and one of those freshman was Grace Owsley, an 18-year-old from Independence, Kentucky.

Owsley is pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in English teaching with a minor in criminal justice. Owsley said she is excit- ed to be more than just a future colonel.

“It feels very homey and it feels like I have a future here when I’m on campus,” Owsley said.

Owsley chose to attend EKU because both of her parents are alumni and she said the college is generous with scholar- ships and has excellent programs for the major and minor that she is pursuing.

Owsley moved into Burnam Hall on Friday, and said that she thinks she was assigned to the hall.

She said that even though she didn’t know her roommate before move-in day, they have been getting along pretty well this first weekend.
