National Signing Day adds 23 to 2011 football recruiting class

Replacing 13 seniors is never an easy task.But Head Coach Dean Hood and Colonels football team have made progress on building up the 2011 squad with the signing of 23 student-athletes on National Signing Day last Wednesday.With signing day closing in, Eastern was in dire need of some depth at the quarterback position.

Football looks to end losing streak

Scheduling Homecoming football games are usually a routine task. Look at the wins and loss column from last year and pick out the team with the highest number on the right. Unfortunately this year, Eastern (2-5, 1-2 OVC) picked Murray State (3-4, 2-2 OVC) and the Racers are no slouches, having won three out of the last four.

Undefeated no more, Colonels shock second ranked Gamecocks 49-37

First win over top five team since 1990

Eastern football handed Jacksonville State, the second ranked FCS football team, its first loss of the season Saturday, 49-37.The win was the first for the Colonels over a top-five FCS team since the second ranked Colonels beat top ranked Middle Tennessee State on Oct.

The Lady Colonels basketball team (12-12  7-6 OVC) found their way back to the win column last Saturday afternoon, defeating in-state rival Morehead State (8-16  5-7 OVC), 78-68.
