Eastern’s men’s tennis team bounced back on Jan. 25 from a two-match loss last weekend to narrowly defeat Xavier University 4-3 after close No. 5 and 6 singles matches. After losing 0-7 against Xavier in 2013 and both sides returning most team members, Eastern was the underdog going into the match.Read More
Senior Wade Meddles was the highlight for Eastern’s Track and Field team after placing second in the men’s mile Jan. 18 at the Kentucky Invitational. The event was the opening indoor event for both the men’s and women’s teams.
Head coach Rick Erdmann said the event was used to gauge the fitness of both teams.
“It showed them what they need to be competitive,” he said.
Meddles ran with a time of 4:08.82 against 39 other runners. Sophomore Chafik Oussemgane also competed in the men’s mile, finishing 10th with a time of 4:17.13.
