Police Beats – A student in Dupree Hall was reported as being aggressive and annoying to others.

Jan. 30 A staff member reported someone stole multiple rolls of toilet paper from the second floor custodial closet in the Dizney Building. Police responded to a report that five shower curtains were ripped down from the showers on the 11th floor of Dupree Hall. Staff stated this has been a continous problem, and that the ripped curtains had only been put up four days before. Feb. 1 Three students reported that their property was stolen in the Begley Buidling after leaving it unattended for a short period of time. Feb. 2 A student in Dupree Hall was reported as being aggressive and annoying to others. Intoxicated RA found passed out near elevators of residence hall

Dec. 2 A resident reported a male resident had vomited and passed out in the elevators on the fifth floor of a residence hall. The resident said the male resident is a resident assistant and was on-duty. The male resident had bloodshot eyes, slurred speech and appeared extremely unsteady on his feet. The male resident admitted to consuming alcohol earlier in the evening. A resident reported a stranger entered her vehicle and stole items. The resident said the vehicle was locked, but there were no signs of forced entry and the vehicle wasn’t damaged. A resident reported his billfold was stolen from the bleachers while playing basketball in the Weaver Gym. Student arrested for alcohol intoxication and falsifying information

Nov. 17 A resident reported someone stole his wallet. He said he first noticed his wallet was missing after gathering his belongs and not being able to find it. He said he placed his wallet and other items in the storage bins at the Fitness and Wellness Center. Around 10:05 p.m. a resident reported a former friend had threatened her during an encounter outside a residence hall. The resident said the former friend had threatened her by saying she was “going to beat you within an inch of your life” and “wasn’t afraid to go to jail.” The former friend admitted she did confront and threaten the resident, but had no intention of committing any harm. Nov. 18 A resident was arrested for being under the influence of a controlled substance. He had bloodshot eyes, a strong odor of marijuana on him, was unsteady on his feet and spoke incoherently. He admitted he had taken a hit of LSD and smoked an unknown amount of marijuana. The resident resisted arrest and was tactically taken to the ground. He continued to be disorderly, scream profanity and resist. He was transported to the Madison County Detention Center. Three students were arrested for alcohol intoxication. November 10 Facility Services were called to remove a drawing of a scrotum and a penis on the sidewalk and wall outside of the Powell Building. November 11 A student was found unresponsive but breathing. When police first encountered him, the student admitted he had been drinking earlier. Madison County Emergency Services attempted to load him into an ambulance, but he started fighting those loading him and  tried to remove his restraints on the stretcher. Resident arrested for being a danger to himself and others

October 28 Around 1:30 p.m., two resident assistants reported a resident threatened them while conducting rounds at a residence hall. The RAs reported the resident yelled crude things at them after they left her room and told her to quiet down. October 30 A desk worker witnessed three male residents entering a residence hall, and all three appeared to be intoxicated. One vomited in the lobby restroom, then they went to the first floor bathroom. One resident refused treatment and transportation from Madison County Emergency Medical Services despite having the odor of an alcoholic beverage on him, displaying slurred speech and unsteadiness on his feet. He was arrested for being a danger to himself and others. November 1 A staff member reported a “Yield to Pedestrian” sign missing from Crabbe Street. November 2 A small group of students were discovered huddled around a vehicle with empty beer cans on the ground. A clear glass marijuana smoking device was found on the floorboard behind the driver’s seat and appeared to have smoke cannabis wax on it. A resident, and owner of the vehicle, said the device didn’t belong to her and she didn’t know whose it was. Other forms of drug paraphernalia were discovered in the vehicle. Resident accuses roommate of stealing computer monitor

October 23 A male resident was taken to the hospital for treatment after a resident assistant found him sitting on the floor incoherent but breathing. His friend, a female resident was arrested after refusing treatment and failing a field sobriety test. The RA found the female resident in the men’s bathroom floor incoherent but breathing. She was arrested for being under the influence of alcohol and being a danger to herself and others. A resident reported his $60 computer monitor was stolen from his dorm room. He said his roommate stole it, but the roommate denied the accusation. The roommate said he had a habit of leaving the door to their room unlocked and someone may have entered the room and taken the monitor. October 25 Around 5:20 p.m. a resident reported someone was able to gain access to her vehicle and steal several items. October 26 A student reported money was stolen from the wallet she left on a picnic table outside of New Science Building. She left the wallet on the table to go inside and have her computer fixed. October 18 Around 7 p.m. a resident reported his bike was missing and found his lock was cut and on the ground. Around 1:30 p.m. a resident reported someone stole her bike from the bike rack in front of Wallace. October 19 A student reported her wallet was on the passenger seat of her car before she drove a friend back to campus. After dropping her friend off in front of his dorm, she noticed her wallet was missing. The student found several of her credit cards lying near a trashcan in front of Dupree Hall. A staff member reported she saw someone take books and movies off shelves and removed the security devices. The unknown person left the movie cases and book security strips in the men’s room on the first and fourth floors leading the doors to look damaged when opened. Students discovered passed out in running vehicle

October 6 A resident was driving on Lancaster Avenue with no headlights. When the student was stopped, she admitted to having a metal grinder with residue, a blunt in a Swisher Sweet wrapper and a baggie of marijuana buds. October 8 A student was arrested for intoxication. When asked if he knew the alphabet he said “yes” and was asked to recite the alphabet from the letters D to Q.  The student started with the letter A to E and then said the number one. He was arrested and taken to the Madison County Detention Center. Two residents were seated and passed out in a running vehicle due to intoxication. The vehicle had vomit on the outside of the vehicle and on the ground next to the vehicle. The passenger was arrested and it was discovered she was carrying a small baggie of marijuana. Other paraphernalia was discovered in the center console after the driver admitted to the baggie of marijuana actually belonging to him. A student was walking through the Alumni Coliseum lot with an alcoholic beverage. September 21 A resident was found sitting on the grass around 8 p.m. outside of the Center for the Arts. She had blood shot eyes, slurred speech and was unsteady on her feet while standing. The resident said she had taken Xanax earlier and the drugs were also found in her bra. She was taken to the hospital. September 23 A resident reported he lost his wallet on his walk from the Ravine to Palmer Hall. He believes someone stole his wallet and was advised to cancel his debit cards and report to the social security office about his lost social security card. September 25 A resident in Dupree reported his clothes were stolen from the fourth floor laundry room. He said he put his clothes in the dryer around 3 p.m. and when he returned at 7 p.m. his clothes were missing. September 30 A resident reported his watch was stolen from his dorm room. October 2 A resident reported someone pretending to be IRS was calling him repeatedly and trying to scam him. Resident reports sexual assault occurred in room

September 18 At about 12:05 a.m., a resident called the police to report she had been sexually assaulted in her room. The resident said the suspect and her had been having consensual sex until this night. September 20 A student reported criminal mischief near the Burke Wellness Center. The student said someone had bent the top corner of his locker in an attempt to gain entry to the locker. There were no valuables in the locker, and the student said he was not the first person this happened to. Police have not heard any reports of similar activity. An Aramark employee reported an unknown person had entered the women’s locker room around 3:25 p.m. and stole her wallet. A co-worker also reported her padlock was stolen at the same time. Nothing else was stolen. A resident reported his gold chain was stolen at the intramural field. He said he handed it to his girlfriend, who laid it down on the bench where it was stolen. He added that the chain has sentimental value to him and doesn’t know who stole it. September 21 A resident of Grand Campus reported a co-worker was harassing her.
