About The Eastern Progress


The Eastern Progress is the independently-produced student newspaper serving Eastern Kentucky University. The Progress publishes every Thursday during the school year, with the exception of vacation and examination periods.


Opinions expressed in the Progress are those of the student editors and other signed writers and do not necessarily represent the views of the university. Student editors also decide the news and editorial content, and they likewise reserve the right to reject advertising submissions that may be deemed offensive. Any false or misleading advertising should be reported to the newspaper's faculty adviser, Reggie Beehner, at (859) 622-1875.


Letters to the editor may be submitted by email to progress@eku.edu. Make sure to write the words "Letter to the editor" in the subject field. Alternatively, letters may also be submitted by using the online form available on our website. Letters should be no longer than 500 words and need to include a contact phone number or email address for verification. All letters should be submitted by 6 p.m., Tuesday. Letters may be edited for length and clarity.
