EKU’s Department of Environmental Health Science is hosting a donation drive Friday, September 1, from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. at the Dizney Building garage. The department is accepting sealed gallons or cases of water to aid Texas in the wake of Hurricane Harvey.
In an email sent late Thursday afternoon, President Benson named Judd Hisel, facilities staff member, as one of the leaders working with the Department of Environmental Health Science in the water collection effort. Benson stated in his email that if members of the EKU community would like to arrange a pickup of water donations, they should contact Hisel at 859-248-0768.
According to Benson’s email, the first shipment from the collections gathered by the end of the day Friday will be transported Saturday.
“We know Colonels care,” Benson’s email stated. “Thank you in advance for your support to these communities and people in their time of great need.”
