For most college students, free time is a precious commodity. When the opportunity to do whatever you please presents itself, one of the last things students want to do is make a grocery store run or give up a coveted parking space just to pick up a few things.

That’s where Viking Delivery comes in. The idea for Viking Delivery, which opened in early September, was dreamed up by a group of friends after partying one night.

“It was 2 a.m., and we had been drinking, and we were starting to get hungry”, says Leaha Randall, one of the founders and co-owners of Viking Delivery.

A few years back, Richmond had The Starving Monkey, another delivery service. The big difference between these two services is that Viking Delivery has no purchase minimum, and will deliver anything legal, as opposed to The Starving Monkey, which solely offered food delivery.

Randall emphasized Viking Delivery’s goal of preventing drunk-driving in Richmond by eliminating the need to take a car anywhere in the first place.

According to health.usnews.com, Drinking and driving among college students is still a major public health problem, studies found one in five college students admitted to driving while drunk and 40 percent acknowledge they have ridden with a drunk driver.

For those college students who find themselves famished after a night of drinking; Viking Delivery can have anything delivered directly at minimal cost. It’s the safer way to feed party-goers and they can even grab some Tylenol as well.

Delivery hours are Sunday-Thursday 10 a.m. to 12 a.m. and Friday-Saturday 10 a.m. to 2 a.m. Order by phone (859) 575-4492 or online at http://vikingdelivery.wix.com/vikingdelivery
