Despite playing on ice, the Eastern hockey team is on fire! The Colonels have a 6-1 record this season and will be taking on its toughest opponent yet Friday and Saturday at the Lexington Ice Center. The puck drops at 11:55 pm.

The Lindenwood Lions are ranked No. 1 in ACHA Division II and look to put an end to the Colonels’ 6-game win streak but that will be easier said than done.

“Getting a win this weekend would be a huge accomplishment,” Colonel senior defender, Andrew Briggs said.

Briggs said that the Colonels will be “prepared for anything” the Lions have to throw at them.

Freshmen center, Scottie Miller, gave all the credit to the upperclassmen for the teams’ current success.

“I think it was great early leadership from the vets on the team,” Miller said. “They showed the eight rookies, including myself, the ropes from the very beginning.”

Hockey fans can buy tickets at the door for $5, or also have the option to purchase their tickets early. The team will be selling tickets outside of Powell on Wednesday and Thursday from 10 til 1.
