After two weekend shutouts, the women’s soccer team dropped to 1-3 on the season. The Colonels lost to Kansas 3-0 on the road, then traveled to Southern Illinois University in Edwardsville on Sunday.

The results were almost the same.

Devon Thomas scored just six minutes into the game for SIU giving the Cougars a 1-0 lead.

SIU would strike again just 11 minutes later, on a goal by Chelsey Johnston.

Eastern held the Cougars scoreless the rest of the game, but could not muster enough to score.

The Colonels were out shot 17-8 on the day and also faced a deficit in corners, 8-1.

After an off day tomorrow, Eastern resumes practice Tuesday.
