SAC Members Giving Out Free Hugs
The Student Activities Council, a branch of the Student Government Association, will be giving out free hugs from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 8, on Powell Corner in an effort to promote the idea of random acts of kindness.“Quilting for the Cure” Exhibit Opening Soon
The Fred P. Giles Gallery, in the Campbell Building, is hosting the “Celebrate the Feminine: Quilting for the Cure” exhibit, which will open Monday, Oct. 5. The exhibit will display quilts from across Kentucky in an effort to raise awareness about breast cancer and celebrate femininity. The display is free and open to the public. EKU Theatre presents “For Better”
EKU’s Theatre Department is showcasing “For Better” in the Gifford Theatre this week. The play continues tonight at 8 p.m. and will resume nightly at that time through Saturday, Oct. 3. Events Scheduled for Disability Awareness
EKU’s ADA Awareness and Accessibility Committee will kick off Disability Awareness Month by hosting Disability Awareness Day on Thursday, Oct. 1. The event will be from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. in the Herndon Lounge of the Powell Building and on Powell Corner. Events include disability simulations, a wheelchair obstacle course and informational tables and booths.
Rotary Club will Sponsor Chili Cook-Off
The Richmond Rotary Club is sponsoring the first Battle of the Bowls Chili Cook-off from 12 to 6 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 10, at the Richmond Centre Fountain Plaza. All proceeds will benefit Habitat for Humanity. For more information, contact the Rotary Club at 859-623-4238.

Career Services, along with EKU’s Pre-Law Program, are sponsoring a Graduate School Fair and Law School Day from 1 to 3 p.m. Monday, Oct. 5, in the Powell Student Center Lobby.
