Eastern police were notified early Sunday morning by Pattie A. Clay regional medical center of a student who was being treated for a puncture wound to his upper left arm.Marc Whitt, Eastern’s director of public relations, said the student was apparently stabbed while attending a dance party fund-raiser put on in the Weaver Gym by the fraternity Phi Beta Sigma.
Whitt said the student was never admitted to hospital. The emergency room treated him, and he was released Sunday, he said.
Eastern police chief Mark Merriman said police are still investigating, and currently have no suspects. “We’re still trying to piece all of this together,” Merriman said.
Merriman asked that anyone with information about the investigation contact Eastern police at (859) 622-2821.
