The Office of the President announced June 20 Kacey Coleman, university counsel, had resigned from her position at Eastern. The statement, sent via e-mail on behalf of President Joanne Glasser, noted Coleman tendered her resignation “to pursue her professional endeavors.”
Coleman could not be reached for comment. Questions from The Progress which were sent to Coleman’s university e-mail address were returned with an auto-reply message stating she had resigned to pursue “professional and personal activities in the Lexington area” and to direct legal matters to Virginia H. Underwood.
On July 14, Cheryl K. Harris stepped into Coleman’s former position as university counsel.
Harris comes from the law firm of Wyatt, Tarrant and Combs LLP. She graduated from the University of Kentucky with a degree in communications and then the University of Kentucky College of Law.
Harris is also a member of the Fayette County Bar Association, Kentucky Bar Association and the American Immigration Lawyers Association.
