Thus, University President Joanne Glasser recently announced Gary Kuhnhenn will serve as acting dean until a replacement is named.Kuhnhenn, who will assume his dean duties July 1, has served as associate dean of the College of Arts and Sciences since 1999. John Wade, chair of the department of economics, will step up as acting associate dean until Kuhnhenn is replaced.

In an e-mail to the campus community, Glasser said during his four years within the college Kuhnhenn has become “familiar with the day-to-day operations of the office and has a deep apperception and understanding of the college on a wide variety of issues.”

Glasser told The Progress a search committee for a permanent dean of the college will be named after the July arrival of Lyle Cook, new provost and vice president for academic affairs. Glasser added it is hard to predict when exactly the new dean will start saying the individual “will be named just as soon as the search is complete and she/he will start as soon as it is convenient for them to do so.”
